After becoming India’s most trusted consumer products brand, Baba Ramdev is now entering into the telecom sector in collaboration with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited. Baba Ramdev launched Patanjali’s Swadeshi SIM cards in partnership with BSNL on Sunday. These SIM cards are known as Samriddhi SIM cards. As mentioned by the Patanjali, the SIM cards will provide 2GB data and unlimited calls. Not only this, Patanjali is also giving several benefits to the customer who will be getting Samriddhi SIM cards.
But at the present moment, the Swadeshi, Samriddhi SIM cards and its various benefits will only be provided to the Patanjali employees. The sources said that there is no information regarding the launch of the SIM cards in public. But chances are that the complete launch of the SIM cards may happen in the next two or three months or so.
Baba Ramdev also said that when the SIM cards become available to everyone, every user of the SIM cards will get around ten percent discount on the purchase of Patanjali products. Not only this, at the beginning of this year, Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali has announced a partnership deal with various e-commerce like Amazon, Flipkart, PayTm, etc to sell their products.
Whereas the partnership with BSNL and Patanjali will increase its reach to more customers. According to the tie-up of Patanjali with BSNL, the customer will have to recharge the SIM card with Rs 144. After recharging the customer will get 2GB data, 100 SMS and unlimited calls for one month. BSNL officials said that this offer has been the best tariff plan of the brand till date. To avail the SIM card, the customer will have to provide his/her identity proof.
BSNL’s Chief General Manager, Sunil Garg in the launch event said “Patanjali’s plan is BSNL’s best plan. In Rs 144, one can make unlimited calls from many parts of the country. We are giving 2GB data pack, 100 SMSs. The members of the Patanjali have to just show their identity and their SIM will be activated soon after some paperwork.”
Along with the data and unlimited voice calls, Swadeshi Samriddhi card also offers accidental, health and life insurances to its customers. Ramdev Ji said that the SIM card comes with the medical insurance policy of around Rs 2.5 lakh, whereas life insurance policy of around Rs 5 lakh. But the condition is that one can only avail the cover in case of road accident. He also added that the main reason behind this plan is to provide prosperity for charity.
