Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will give a certificate to about 7500 farmers by launching crop loan forgiveness scheme in the absence of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
State’s Agriculture Education Research Minister Surya Pratap Shahi told Emit Post that the historic day will be for farmers of the state on August 17, when the government will start a debt waiver scheme while fulfilling its election promise.
He said that while moving the process forward, the Minister in charge of all the districts will give a certificate of loan forgiveness scheme in their respective districts on special camp to be held on September 5.
Shahi informed that the eligible amount of loan of one lakh rupees of eligible small and marginal farmers should be waived. For this, the farmers will need to link their accounts to the base and verify it. He said that the farmers who are benefitted from crop loan forgiveness scheme are being verified.
