Mumbai: A stampede is due to rumors on the Footover Bridge located at Elphinstone Road Railway Station, Mumbai, Maharashtra. There was rumor among the people that the foot overbridge at the station has fallen due to heavy rains. Due to the shortage of the people, people started running in haste and a panic broke. This accident has killed 15 people, while many people are reported to be injured. The injured have been admitted to KEM Hospital. The incident happened at around 9.30 in the morning.

According to reports, a man walking on the foot overbridge at Elphinstone Road railway station in Mumbai collapsed in the rain after which the people who came down felt the bridge was falling. This led to a panic among the people. There was a huge crowd on the foot over bridge at the time of the accident. Medical relief train reached the spot. Western Railway service has been affected due to the accident.

It was a relief that people immediately came to the aid of the injured, due to which the injured could get treatment immediately. Eyewitnesses said that people passing through the spot brought the injured to the hospital. At the same time, the police worked very promptly and the injured were rushed to the hospital. However, according to the police, the reasons for the accident are yet to be ascertained.
