Mumbai Pub Incident: Five officials of BMC Suspended, CM Fadnavis orders inquiry

MUMBAI: Following the death of 14 people in Mumbai Pub accident, the BMC took major action and suspended five officials. Last night, 14 people were killed after a fierce fire in Mumbai’s Pub. The officials who have been suspended by the BMC include the designated officer Madhukar Shelar, junior engineer Dhanraj Shinde, all engineer Mahale, health officer Padgir, medical and fire officer SS Shinde. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavisalso reached the spot and took a deep look on the situation.

Let us tell you that on Sunday night, 14 people were killed and 12 people were injured due to a heavy fire in Lower Parel late last night. The fire started in a restaurant on the fourth floor of the building and then spread to the entire building. Among the dead are 12 women. Two TV channels offices adjacent to the restaurant were also caught in the fire.

The birthday party was running in the restaurant. Several fire engines were set up to extinguish the fire. At the time of the accident, 50 to 60 people were present in the restaurant. It is being told that the fire might be due to the short circuit.

According to the fire department, after the fire, people in the restaurant were trapped inside. Most people have died due to lack of oxygen. All the injured have been admitted to KEM and Breach Candy Hospital.
