Chandigarh: Special CBI court based in Panchkula on Baba Ram Rahim, the chief of Dera Sacha Sauda, has accused Dera Sacha Sauda chief Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh for his misdeeds. The court will pronounce a verdict on August 28. One of his former disciples on Dera chief had accused of rape. Panchkula has a number of millions of Dera supporters who are not ready to leave despite the imposition of Section 144, there are curfews in Sirsa’s three villages- Bajkekan, Shahpur Begu and Nejiyakheda. However, after the rebuke of the Punjab-Haryana High Court’s Haryana government, the removal of supporters started after midnight. After the court’s directive, Ram Rahim himself appealed to return to supporters by issuing a video message, but this appeal does not seem to be of any use. The court had strictly said that when Section 144 was taken then how many supporters were gathered.

Dera chief appeals for peace

He also appealed to his followers to keep peace. Dera chief tweeted, “I have always respected the law. Although there is pain in my back, but I will go to the court, following the law. My heart is full faith. Everyone should keep peace. Against the Dera Chief, the CBI filed a case of sexual harassment in 2002 on the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The court had given this direction after the incident came to the notice of anonymous letters by Ram Rahim Singh, allegedly for sexual harassment of two Sadhs. The Dera chief has however dismissed these allegations.
Thousands of Ram Rahim supporters on the streets of Panchkula
Thousands of supporters, including women and elderly people, are reaching Panchkula near Chandigarh and are frozen there in parks and open spaces. The arrival of the Dera followers is still going on. Comprehensive police arrangements have been made to ensure there is no disturbance. A large number of followers are also reaching the headquarters of Dera in Sirsa, Haryana. A senior official of the Union Home Ministry said that 150 companies have sent paramilitary forces to help the police in carrying out law and order. In a company of paramilitary force, there are more than 100 jawans.
