New Delhi: Goods and Service Tax (GST) has come into effect from 1 July till now, two weeks have passed. In view of this, the GST Council meeting is going to be held on Monday ie in which the situation will be reviewed after implementation of this new indirect tax system. This is the first meeting of the GST Council after the implementation.
The GST Council was formed in September last year. This will be the 19th meeting of the Council. So far, at the council meeting, the Central and the State have been discussing various issues in front of us. This time this discussion will be through video conferencing. Sources said that the date of this meeting has been done as the council wants to review the situation after the GST is implemented.
The finance ministry tweeted, “The 19th meeting of the GST Council under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will be through Video Conferencing in Delhi on 17th July. Here, it was decided at the meeting of the Council on June 30 that the next meeting will be held on August 5.
