Vidya Balan who is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Tumhari Sulu inaugurated ‘Rann Utsav Festival’ on Sunday. During interaction the actress said, she is not only looking for women-centric roles but is being offered these amazing roles and loves to taking complete advantage of these opportunities.
Vidya was asked how she feels about the change in film industry and society, “I feel very lucky that I am able to work in the film industry in this era when the society is changing. And these stories that we present are inspired by our society. And I think that’s why today’s female characters are very interesting, engaging and entertaining. And I am a hungry actor, whenever I got a great role I have to grab it. But I am not only looking for women-centric roles. I am being offered these amazing roles and I am taking complete advantage of these opportunities.”
When asked if she was nervous about shooting Sridevi’s song ‘Hawa Hawai’, Balan said, “I had a lot of fun; I was scared at first to perform of Sridevi’s song. But then I found out about the scene that it’s just an office party and we are not trying to recreate the original performance, then I felt a little relax. I have danced all my life on the song and now I did it on camera too.”
Vidya who inaugurated Rann Utsav expressed that she had been waiting to attend the festival for a long time she said, “I always wanted to attend the Rann Utsav festival. I had heard from so many people that it is an amazing place to be. This is the first time I got the chance and today my wish will come true now that I have reached here. It feels very special to be here, especially since I get to be here on a full moon night.”
Tumhari Sulu is a comical slice-of-life film directed by adman Suresh Triveni for youth and families. Vidya Balan essays the role of a beautiful, enthusiastic and happy-go-lucky Mumbai housewife whose routine life changes when she unexpectedly lands herself with the exciting job of a night RJ (radio jockey) on a leading radio station.
Presented by T series the film is scheduled to release on 17th November 2017.
